 we close CHEEK TO CHEEK, an installation, performance and immersive social experience by Sophia Kecir Camper, presented as part of Brussels Design Week 2026.

CHEEK TO CHEEK imagines an alternative form of convivial urban space, one that is non-productive and collective, inviting us to rethink how we inhabit our neighbourhoods, friendships, tables and leisure time.

Drawing on speculative design and the shared ritual of preparing food, the installation transforms the open kitchen into a space for participation. Visitors are invited not simply to observe, but to approach, prepare, contribute and collectively activate the work.

Through food, movement and gathering, CHEEK TO CHEEK asks how we might recover collective knowledge, our capacity to act together, and the joy of meeting around a shared table.
