MUSLIMGAUZE
SOUND, IMAGE AND THE AFTERLIFE OF AN ARCHIVE
Muslimgauze: Sound, Image and the Afterlife of an Archive is a multidisciplinary exhibition, performance, and research project curated by Feras Abo Dabboseh and Mohammad Zaza, with the support of researcher, and visual artist Otis Verhoeve as Lagrange Points’ first project for autumn 2026. The project examines the work and legacy of Muslimgauze, the musical project created by British artist Bryn Jones, through a shared interest in the intersections of music, politics, resistance, and the enduring relevance of his archive.
Working across sound, video, visual culture, publishing, performance, and political history, the project approaches Muslimgauze not only as an extensive musical archive, but as a complex cultural phenomenon shaped by distance, solidarity, repetition, media images, and the representation of Palestine and the wider Arab and Islamic worlds.

A monthly Sunday gathering around food, hospitality, and community.
Once a month, Mama Kholoud takes over the kitchen at Ruq’ah with a changing menu, generous dishes, and the same warmth.
The brunch brings together people from across Brussels for a slow afternoon of eating, conversation, and meeting one another. It is less about rushing through a meal and more about creating time to sit, stay, and gather around a shared table.
Come hungry, bring a friend, and make yourself at home.

Writing Circle at Ruq’ah Art Space
A collective writing practice.
In a world that asks us to keep moving faster, Ruq‘ai creates space to slow down, gather, and write.
Whether you are an experienced writer or just beginning, the circle is open to all forms of writing, from books and poetry to essays, journals, notes, fragments, or simply the first words of a new idea.
We meet, write together in silence, and make space for concentration without any expectation to perform, produce, or arrive with finished work. At the end, there is an optional moment to share, exchange, and connect with other writers.
Come as you are, bring whatever you are working on, and leave with a few more words.

WASIF JAWHARIYYEH
THE STORYTELLER OF JERUSALEM
MUSIC, MEMORY AND A LIVING ARCHIVE
Wasif Jawhariyyeh: The Storyteller of Jerusalem is a multidisciplinary exhibition, performance, and research project centred on the life and archive of Palestinian composer, oud player, poet, collector, and chronicler Wasif Jawhariyyeh.
Born in Jerusalem in 1897, Wasif documented more than six decades of Palestinian life, from the late Ottoman period through the British Mandate, the Nakba, and exile. His diaries and musical archive offer an intimate portrait of Jerusalem through neighbourhoods, cafés, celebrations, music, humour, politics, and everyday encounters.
The project brings together photographs, diaries, musical notebooks, maps, recordings, family materials, performances, and contemporary artistic practices, treating the archive not as still past, but as living material for new artistic creation.
Curated by Feras Abo Dabboseh, Mohammad Zaza, and Ivan Azazian, Wasif’s grandson, the project connects a family archive to a wider history of Palestinian music, memory, and cultural life.

This autumn, Mohsen Alzaher joins Ruq’ah with a recurring theatre program taking place twice a month.
Rather than a one-off performance, the series creates space for theatre to return, develop, and meet the audience again over time.
Each evening offers an intimate encounter with performance at Ruq’ah, allowing the work to grow through repetition, presence, and exchange.

PHOTO KEGHAM - THE STUDIO SHRINE
To Weave Unmade Histories
The Studio Shrine is a spatial installation developed with Kegham Djeghalian Jr, inspired by the installation he first created in Sharjah around the legacy of Photo Kegham, the photographic studio founded by his grandfather in Gaza.
The shrine will also connect to To Weave Unmade Histories, bringing in studio portraits that have been shared with Kegham by Gazan families and opening a space to reflect on memory, displacement, survival, and the afterlife of family photographs.
The project is conceived as an intimate activation rather than a conventional exhibition, creating a bridge between Ruq’ah’s public program and the larger Photo Kegham Unboxing exhibition at FOMU Antwerp in 2027.
The installation will be accompanied by a Family Photo Salon, an intimate gathering where participants are invited to bring family photographs, physical or digital, and share the stories they carry.
Photographs are shared, never collected.
