 Eishan Ensemble at Ruq’ah during their 2026 European tour.

Led by Persian-Australian tar virtuoso and composer Hamed Sadeghi, Eishan Ensemble brings Persian musical traditions into dialogue with contemporary composition, improvisation, chamber jazz, and Middle Eastern jazz fusion.

The quartet features Hamed Sadeghi on tar, Michael Avgenicos on saxophone, Adem Yilmaz on percussion, and Maximillian Alduca on double bass. Their music moves between tightly composed melodies and open improvisation, creating a sound that is cinematic, spacious, and difficult to place within a single genre.

Since forming in Sydney in 2016, Eishan Ensemble has performed internationally at venues and festivals including the Sydney Opera House, London Jazz Festival, WOMAD, Auckland Arts Festival, and Rome Jazz Festival.
