Gazawyat, Film Screening

As part of Palestine Cinema Days Around the World 2026, Ruq’ah will host a screening of Gazawyat, a collection of four short documentaries produced by Filmlab Palestine, centering the voices, experiences and everyday realities of women in Gaza.

Gazawyat

“A despair that glows, but never burns.”

Gazawyat brings together four short documentaries portraying women in Gaza in moments of vulnerability, endurance and honesty. Through stories of displacement, motherhood, femininity, journalism and memory, the films explore the struggle to preserve dignity, voice and selfhood under conditions of war and destruction.

The programme includes Fidaa by Khaled Tuaima, Hadeel by Aisha Adly, Maha by Moayed Abu Ammouneh, and Noor by Shorouq Al-Aila.

Together, the four films form an intimate portrait of women not only as survivors, but as keepers of memory and narrative, transforming grief, exhaustion and fear into language, testimony and presence.

Palestine Cinema Days Around the World

Palestine Cinema Days Around the World is a global initiative bringing Palestinian films into cinemas, universities, cultural spaces and community venues across the world.

The 2026 edition takes place on 2 November, the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, gathering audiences across borders around a shared screen and a shared refusal of erasure.

At Ruq’ah, we join this global movement with a screening dedicated to Palestinian stories, memory and cultural presence.
